Keystar Realty Inc., Brokerage (“Keystar Realty”, “we”) is a real estate brokerage registered with the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO). This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through keystarrealty.ca and in our brokerage work. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Who is responsible

Our privacy officer is Iouri Chestopalov, Broker of Record: chestopaloviouri@yahoo.ca, (416) 939-5284.

2. What we collect

What you give us: your name, email, phone, company, and what you tell us about your property or space, such as unit size, rent and lease dates. What a transaction needs: for example, the identity verification brokerages must do under federal anti-money-laundering rules, and the documents of your deal. Website data: technical information such as IP address, browser and pages visited, collected by our website provider, Web4Realty, and by Google reCAPTCHA, which protects our forms from spam.

3. Why we use it

To answer your enquiry, provide brokerage services, meet our legal and regulatory obligations and, only if you agree, send you our market updates.

4. Consent

You consent to our use of your information when you send us an enquiry or engage us. We email market updates only to people who agree to receive them, or as CASL otherwise allows. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent at any time by emailing chestopaloviouri@yahoo.ca.

5. Who we share it with

Service providers that run our website, customer database and email; some store data outside Canada, where local law applies to it. Other parties to a transaction you ask us to act on, such as co-operating brokerages, lawyers and lenders. The MLS® System, when we list a property for you. Regulators, courts or others, where the law requires. We do not sell personal information.

6. How long we keep it

As long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for, and as long as the law requires brokerage records to be kept.

7. Security

We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity, including access controls and secure connections. No system is completely secure.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by contacting our privacy officer. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies for basic functions such as saved searches and sign-in. You can block cookies in your browser; some features may then not work.

10. Changes

We post changes on this page with a new effective date.
